Apple Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 1/2 cups diced peeled apples
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • powder sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together shortening, sugar, & eggs. Mix in the dry ingrediants & then add apples and walnuts. Pour into greased pan.

Bake at 375* for 25 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
