Braised Beef

One of Catherine's recipes that she sent to me in Arkansas when I was first married...still have the one she typed at Balfour!

Ingredients
- 3 tbs bacon far (I usually use cooking spray)
- 2 lbs stew beef (sirloin tips are great if on sale!)
- 3 lg onions sliced
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire
- 3 tbs flour
- 1 tbs vinegar
- 2 tbs ketchup
- 1 tsp salt
- Braise beef on all sides
- Add onions - fry lightly
- Add remaining ingredients plus 2 cups boiling water
- Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add additional water if necessary
- Serve with mashed potatoes (or rice - or noodles, but potatoes best)
