Beef with Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 t sugar
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • 1 T low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 T water
  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 flank steak, sliced into thin strips.
  • Whisk together the above ing in large bowl, toss with steak and marinade at least 1 hour, refrigerated.
  • 1/2 C low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 T flour (corn starch if gluten free)
  • 1 T sherry
  • 3 T vegetable oil
  • 2 heads of broccoli, crowns only

Preparation

Step 1

In small bowl stir together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic flour and sherry until smooth, set aside.

In large skillet, heat 2 T oil over high heat until shimmering, add broccoli and saute 3 min stirring often, transfer to plate.

Reduce heat to med-high. Carefully add remaining T of oil to hot pain, then add marinated meat and half of the sauce mixture and saute for 3-4 min, until meat is cooked through and no longer pin. Stir in the broccoli and remaining sauce.
