MINNESOTA WILD RICE BURGER 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 clove 1 clove garlic or garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup 1/3 cup celery
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup minced mushrooms
  • 2 T 2 T olive oil
  • 1 pkg 1 pkg Uncle Ben's 90 second original uncooked
  • 1-3/4 cups 1-3/4 cups cooked wild rice not instant can be cooked wild rice in a can
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup craisins soak in boiled water then chop
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 6 T 6 T Italian bread crumbs or regular with Italian seasoning added( after trail I added more bread crumbs)
  • 1/3 cup 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 2 eggs plus one yoke beaten (after trial I added another whole egg it didn't stay together the first time)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp red cayenne pepper
  • swiss cheese, buns, red onions, lettuce

Preparation

Step 1

In small skillet heat olive oil and saute garlic, onion, celery and mushrooms unill soft then cool
cook wild rice and cool completely if used canned you don't have to
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl use a hamburger form press to make burgers you can tell now if you would need to add more bread crumbs to keep them together. press in form and then turn out onto wax paper. Freeze until almost frozen solid or just let slightly thaw before cooking if frozen solid. In large skillet heat additional T of olive oil until really hot. Flip burgers upside down into skillet from wax paper. cook about 3-4 minutes until a nice crust is formed then flip another 2 minutes . Add swiss cheese until melted on top. Add red onions and lettuce to complete you burger.
