Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 6 oz. water
- 1 24 oz. jar tomato puree
- 5-6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Heat oil in a large stockpot, and saute garlic 2-3 minutes.
Add ground beef to the stockpot and cook until brown, about 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato paste, tomato puree, sugar, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and basil. Mix well. Fill the 6 oz. tomato paste cane with water and add to the pot.
Simmer for at least 2 hours, occasionally stirring.
