Ingredients
- 24 c. peeled, sliced apples (6-7 lbs.)
- 3 T. lemon juice
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. cornstarch
- 3-4 tsp. apple pie spice (adjust to taste)
Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, set aside. In a large kettle over medium heat, combine sugars, cornstarch, salt and apple pie spice. Add water, bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add apples, return to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until apples are tender. (Adjust spices). Cool and ladle into freezer bags.
