Ingredients
- 1 c butter, softened
- 1 1/4 c dark brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 c flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cloves or allspice
- 2 1/4 c quick cooking oatmeal
- 1 1/2 large granny smith apple, peeled and diced small (eat other 1/2 or use 2 medium)
- 1 bag(s) cinnamon chips, 10 oz.
- 1 1/2 c chopped walnuts
- glaze or white chocolate for garnish
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In mixer bowl cream butter and brown sugar; about 2 minutes.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Sift flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
Mix flour mixture into creamed mixture just until blended.
Add oatmeal, apples, cinnamon chips and walnuts till blended.
Scoop dough onto cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are light brown.
Let cool a few minutes and remove to cooling rack to cool completely.
Drizzle with melted white chocolate or with a powdered sugar glaze.
