Blueberry Crunch

This is one of my Mother's (Jeannette Costigan's) recipes.

Ingredients

  • Crunch:
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 2 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 2 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 2 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten egg and mix well.
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup flour (scant)
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup butter
  • Combine sugar, cinnamon, flour and butter. Stir until crumbly. Use as directed.
