Key Lime Pie (Jeannette Costigan's recipe)

This is one of my Mother's (Jeannette Costigan's) recipes. When I was a little girl we lived in Key West, FL and had an absolutely loaded Key lime tree in our back yard. Other kids and I used to try to go around the neighborhood and sell them - but everybody had Key lime trees so we didn't make much money.

Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • Juice from 6 or 7 medium-sized Key limes
  • 4 or 5 egg yolks
  • Combine all ingredients, mix well and then pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue and brown in oven.
