All-Purpose Spice Rub

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c sweet paprika
  • 1/4 c plus 2 t kosher salt
  • 2 T light brown sugar
  • 4 t garlic powder
  • 4 t onion powder
  • 4 t dried oregano
  • 4 t orange zest
  • 2 t pepper
  • 1 t cayenne (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients. Use fingers to rub sugar and zest evenly thru spices. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month.
How to Use: Rub chicken, pork, steak or fish with olive oil and then season with 1 tablespoon rub for every pound of meat, poultry or fish. Let stand for 10 minutes before grilling.
