Stuffing in the Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. Cubed bag Herb seasoned stuffing
  • 1 roll Sage breakfast sausage Found near the bacon section
  • 2 red apples Apples
  • 1 cup Celery
  • 1 cup Yellow onion
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

First dice up your apples, celery and yellow onion. Turn your pot on saute' normal mode and add your sage sausage. It only needs and is NOT necessary a little seasoning. I added my husbands Insta-Pork you can find on Amazon. It has an undertone of brown sugar that I thought would give a nice hint of sweetness to compliment the apples. Next add your entire bag of Herb stuffing. Add celery, apples and onions on top. Add one cup of chicken broth and one cup of water. I would also recommend using a lower sodium chicken broth. The sausage is salty enough in itself. Mix well while on normal saute' mode to get nice and warm. Shut off Instant pot. Lightly spray two pans with non-stick butter. Quickly clean out your stainless steel inner pot and add one cup of water to the bottom.
Add your stuffing mix to the pans. I like to foil the bottom lip of my pans. Place one pan on trivet and place in pot. Using the bottom of one of your spring form pans, set that on top of the pan that is on the trivet and gently place the other pan on top.
Close lid, seal, and set to High Pressure, Manual for 5-7 minutes. Remember this is pretty well cooked you are just combining the flavors and heating up. Close lid, seal, and set to High Pressure, Manual for 5-7 minutes. Do a quick release and carefully open up pot after the pin drops. Place on a flat platter or plate and after 5-10 minutes you may release the spring. If you want to flip the stuffing wait until it is completely cool. You can always add the warm gravy on top of stuffing. I had my deli slice my turkey a little thicker than normal. On the plate add two or three slices of turkey, add a few spoonfuls of stuffing and roll.
