Raised Waffles

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c warm water
  • 1/4 oz envelope yeast
  • 2 c warm milk
  • 1/2 c margarine, melted then cooled
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Place water in a large mixing bowl and sprinkle with yeast. Let stand 5 minutes to dossolve. Add milk, margarine, salt, sugar and flour to yeasat mixture and beat until smooth and blended. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let stand overnight at room temperature. The next morning, preheat waffle iron. Just before cooking waffles add eggs and baking sode and stir until well mixed. Pour about 1/2 to 3/4 c batter in to very hot waffle iron and bake until golden brown.

Keeps in the refrigerator for several days.
