Ingredients

  • 3

    cups flour

  • 1

    Tablespoons sugar

  • 1-1/2

    teaspoon salt

  • 1/4

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1

    Tablespoon instant yeast

  • 1

    cup milk

  • 1/4

    cup water

  • 2

    Tablespoon olive oil

  • Cornmeal to sprinkle in pan

  • VARIOUS THINGS CAN BE ADDED: FENNEL SEED, RAISINS, ONION, DRIED CRANBERRIES....use your imagination.

Directions

Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and yeast. Combine milk, water, oil in a microsafe bowl. Heat to 120 degrees (single 1 min. 30 sec; double, 3 min) Pour the hot liquid over the dry ingredients. Beat at high speed for 1 minute. The dough will be very soft. Spray bread pan. Put dough in pan. Spray plastic wrap with nonstick cooking spray and cover dough. Let RISE 30 minutes. When 15 minutes have passed, turn on oven to 400 degrees. After rising, bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, after 5 minutes, turn bread out of pan to cool on rack
