Ingredients
- Topping:
- 1 cup Nabisco 100% Bran Cereal
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 tbsp. margering, melted
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 tbsp. margerine, melted
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Preparation
Step 1
Combine cereal and milk, let stand 5 minutes. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Add cereal mixture and stir just until moistened. Turn out onto floured board and knead 10 times or until smooth. Roll out to 12x8" rectangle with floured rolling pin. Brush with butter. Sprinkle with mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon and then raisins. Roll up form long edges. Cut into 12 pieces. Combine topping ingredients and divide evenly between 12 large greased muffin cups. Place one piece cut side down in each muffin cup. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until browned. Turn out immediately onto rack. Cool slightly before serving.
