  • 16 FROZEN MEATBALLS OR FRESH FULLY COOKED MEATBALLS
  • 1 (15 1/2) OZ JAR MARINARA SAUCE
  • 1/2 CUP SUN DRIED TOMATO PESTO OR BASIL PESTO
  • 4 HERO OR CLABATTA ROLLS CUT INTO HALVES TOASTED
  • 4 TBSP GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE
  • 4 OZ EACH SLICED OR SHREDDED PROVOLONE AND FONTINA CHEESE

Preparation

Step 1

HEAT OVEN TO 400 IF USING FROZEN MEATBALLS COOK ACCORDING TO PACKAGE DIRECTIONS. MEANWHILE, IN A MEDIUM SAUCEPAN HEAT THE MARINARA SAUCE AND THE COOKED MEATBALLS OVER MEDIUM HEAT, STIRRING FREQUENTLY, UNTIL SAUCE IS THICKENED AND HOT.
SPREAD 1 TBSP OF THE PESTO SAUCE ON BOTTOM OF EACH ROLL. PLACE 4 MEATBALLS ON EACH ROLL SPOON MARINARA SAUCE ON TOP OF MEATBALLS.
SPRINKLE EACH WITH 1 TBSP PARMESAN CHEESE. TOP EACH WITH 1 OZ PROVOLONE AND 1 OZ FONTINA CHEESE. PLACE HEROES ON BAKING SHEET, BAKE 4-5 MINUTES OR UNTIL HOT AND CHEESE ARE MELTED.
