Ingredients
- 2-3 T. olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1-2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 t. cumin
- 1/4 t. black pepper
- 1/2 t. salt
- pinch oregano
- 2 med. boiling potatoes, peeled and cut into small chunks
- 8 whole canned green chiles, chopped (or fresh), about 2/3 cup
- 2 t. chopped canned jalapenos
- 5 cups chicken broth
- white cheese, shredded
- fat free sour cream
- avocado

Step 1
Heat oil in saucepan, add onion and garlic and cook, covered, over low heat about 5 minutes to let onion wilt. Uncover, raise heat to medium, stir in cumin and pepper. Stir for 2-3 minutes, or until onions show signs of browning. Add oregano, potatoes, green chiles, jalapenos and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for about 45 minutes. Stir in a little sour cream before serving.
Add more sour cream, shredded white cheese and avocado to bowl as desired.
