Beets, Mama's Sweet Pickled

Ingredients

  • 11 cans (#2) sliced beets with liquid
  • 5 pounds sugar
  • water to cover
  • 1 1/3 ounces pickling spices tied in cloth

Preparation

Step 1

Place all ingredients in large stock pot or dishpan. Add enough water to the beets and beet Liquid to finish covering the beets. Let it come to a boil; boil 20-30 minutes. Spoon into prepared pint or quart jars while hot. Seal tightly.
