Tomato Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 can tomatoes with basil, oregano, garlic diced (14 1/2 ounce)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly 1 minute. Add broth. stirring until smooth.
Add diced tomatoes, sugar and pepper and cool, stirring often, 3 to 5 minutes or until thickened..
Cook time: 6 minutes.
Note: this was served over Mashed Potatoes.
