Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons fat drippings
- 2 cups (16-ounces) water or broth
- 2 tablespoons Argo cornstarch
- 1/4 cup (2-ounces) water cold
- desired seasonings to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Pour drippings from skillet where meat was rendered and then return 2 tablespoons of the drippings to the skillet. Stir in the 2 cups liquid. Cook over medium heat stirring to loosen browned bits. Remove from heat.
Mix cornstarch and the 1/2 cup cold water until smooth; stir into the liquid in skillet. Add seasonings, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil over medium heat and then boil 1 minute until as thick or thin as you want. If too thick, add more liquid. Makes 2 cups.
