Sugar-Coated Peanuts

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanuts raw with skins on
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon food coloring (red Olympic food color)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper and lightly spray with Pam.
In a large saucepan, combine nuts, sugar, water and food coloring. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered until liquid has evaporated, about 20 minutes. Place on cookie sheet and bake 20 minutes
