Ingredients
- 1/2 package (17 1/4 oz.) frozen puff pastry (1 sheet) thawed
- 8 frankfurters
- GLAZE
- 1 large egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400F.
On a lightly floured surface, unfold pastry; roll out to a 14" x 10" rectangle.
Cut into 2 lengthwise strips. Cut each strip into 4 (5" x 3-1/2") rectangles.
Wrap 1 frankfurter in each pastry rectangle, covering completely. (Updated version has pastry cut into strips and wrapped around franks).
Brush pastry edges with water; pinch seams to seal.
Place wrapped frankfurters, seam-side down, on an ungreased baking sheet.
Stir egg white and water together for glaze.
Brush each wrapped frankfurter with egg-white glaze.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
Serve immediately.
