Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 1 cube cream cheese (8 oz) (can use lowfat Neufchatel, don't recommend nonfat)
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3 cups white flour
- 1 small container candied cherries, cut in half
Preparation
Step 1
Cream together butter, cheese and sugar til smooth. Add egg yolks, vanilla and salt. Mix well. Add flour. Combine until dough is firm. Shape into small bite sized balls, or use small cookie scoop. Place onto cookie sheet and top with 1/2 cherry, pressed lightly into dough. Bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes. These cookies do not spread much, and will be white. When done, they should not look "wet" and should be removed before the edges brown.
