Shrimp Boil

By

This is so much fun. Just strain it and dump it all out on the table. We lay down newspaper and serve with cocktail sauce and butter. This recipe is from my sister and she swears by Zataran's Crab Boil. Obviously, you can use any season packet, but then your taking your chances. :)

Preparation

Step 1

Fill a large pot with water, enough to cover all your ingredients, about 6 quarts or more. Add onion and garlic. Squeeze juice of lemons into pot and toss the lemon into the pot. Add Zataran's seasoning packet, salt and hot sauce to taste. (I'd start with a couple of tablespoons of salt. You can add more later.) Bring to boil.
Add baby red potatoes. Return water to boil. Low boil for several minutes, until potatoes are starting to get soft.
Add Kielbasa. Boil for 5-10 minutes
Add corn. Boil for 5 min.
Add shrimp and turn off heat. Let sit for 10-15 minutes for juices to soak into the yummy shrimp.
Strain, reserving some of the juice for dipping crusty bread. You may want to add more salt to the dipping juices.
Serve on table with cocktail sauce, hot sauce and butter.
