Ingredients

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry dough, thawed
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped crystalized ginger
  • 2 small baking apples, cored, halved, and thinly sliced

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees, in sm bowl, combine egg and 1 tbsp water, set aside. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside. Unfold pastry onto lightly floured surface, roll into 12 inch square. Using pizza cutter, cut a 1/2 strip from each side. Brush edges with egg wash, transfer to bak sheet, attach strips to each side to form edge, brush with egg mixture. Prick pastry with fork. In small bowl, stir tog sugar and ginger, arrange apple slices over pastry, overlapping, sprinkle with sugar mixture. Bake 400 for 20-25 min or until pastry is golden brown and crisp.
