Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/2 med onion (I used powder)
- 2 gloves garlic
- 1 tsp flaked parsley
- 1 tsp sage
- 1 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 Tblsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 lg cans Hunt's tomato sauce
- 1 12 oz can Contadina tomato paste
- 3/4 *3/4 cup finely rolled oats
- *if doubling, still only use 3/4 cup oats
Preparation
Step 1
Brown ground beef, chop fine
Add spices, tomato sauce and tomato paste.
Stir until smooth, then add #3 1/2 cups water.

Cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, not to scorch.
The last 1/2 hour add the 3/4 cup oats (to absorb oil)
sprinkling over top & stirring until well mixed.
After 1 1/2 hrs sauce should be done.
Cool & freeze.
