White Bread

  • 2 heaping quarts flour
  • 2 1/2 cups Hot water
  • 1 1/2 cups Scalded milk
  • 1 Tblsp. salt
  • 2 Tblsp. shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tblsp. yeast

Preparation

Step 1

Blend milk, sugar, water, shortening and yeast all together; set aside. Put flour, salt in mixer pour in milk mixture, then mix together until smooth.
Put in greased bowl. While in bowl knead the bread.
Turn oven on warm for about 2 or 3 minutes. leave dough in bowl and put in warm oven to raise for 35 mins.
Punch dough down and knead and put loaves in bread pans. Let raise in pans for another 35 mins.
Bake @ 350' oven for 35 minutes.
