Ingredients
- 7 ounces dried cavatelli or wagon wheel pasta (2'/2 cups)
- 10 ounces uncooked Italian sausage links, sliced Vi inch thick
- 3/4 cup chopped onions (1/2 medium)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 26- to 28-ounce jar spaghetti sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (4 ounces)

Step 1
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Place pasta in a large bowl; set aside.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet cook sausage, onions, and garlic over medium heat until sausage is brown and onions are tender; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and pepper. Add to pasta in bowl along with 1/2 cup of the cheese. Stir gently to combine. Transfer to an ungreased 2-quart casserole.
Bake, covered, in a 375°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with the remaining V2 cup cheese. Bake, uncovered, about 5 minutes more or until cheese is melted.
