Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam(or apricot)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 8 inch square pan. Cream butter until soft. Add sugar. Continue creaming until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, blend well. Gradually add flour. Mix thoroughly. Fold in nuts. Spoon half of batter into pan. spread evenly. Top with jam, cover with remaining dough. Bake one hour or until lightly browned. Cut into one inch bars.
