Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 6 slices bread, broken
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 - 1/2 c. raisins, if desired
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1 t. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Scald milk (microwave milk for 3 minutes). Add sugar & salt to slightly beaten eggs. Add egg mixture & vanilla to milk. Mix thoroughly.
Put bread in 3 qt. casserole & pour milk mixture over. Press bread into liquid & let sit for about 10 minutes. Add raisins & bake in 325˚ oven. Bake one hour until slightly browned & knife comes out clean when inserted in middle.
