Ingredients
- 13 cloves of garlic,blanched
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 2 lbs shrimp,peeled and deveined
- 1/3 olive oil
- 1/4 c tomato sauce
- 2 tbs red wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Preparation
Step 1
1) blanch cloves 3 minutes in boiling water; drain, set aide.
2) peel,devein shrimp. in large bow stir oil, tomato sauce, vinegar, basil, minced garlic,salt,and cayenne pepper. add shrimp, toss to coat. place in large ziploc bag in refrigerator 30 minutes, turning bag.
3) prepare grill, position oiled rack 4-6 inches above fire.
4) remove shrimp from bag(use marinate to baste shrimp on grill. thread shrimp, garlic cloves onto skewer just above tail so it passes 2x thru shrimp. grill turning and brushing 2-3x until shrimp is pink (6-9 minutes)
