Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp. oilive oil
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 can (10 oz.) sliced mushrooms
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 can (5-1/2oz.) tomato paste
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 pkg. lasagne noodles, cooked and drained
- 1 pkg. mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
Preparation
Step 1
1. Sauté onion and garic in 1 tbsp. olive oil; add ground beef, cook until brown. Blend in mushrooms (including mushroom liquid), tomato sauce, tomato paste, 1 tsp. salt, oregano, and water; simmer 15 minutes.
2. Mix egg with cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, remaining olive oil and remaining salt in a small bowl.
3. Pour 1/3 meat sauce in 9"x13" baking dish. Cover with 1/3 lasagne. Alternate another 1/3 sauce and lasagne. Spread cottage cheese mixture over lasagne and cover with remaining lasagne and sauce. Arrange mozzarella cheese on top and bake at 350F for 20 to 30 minutes.
