PORTOBELLO GRAVY

Great over mashed potatoes or serve over pan sauteed chicken or beef.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped cleaned portobello mushrooms
  • 2 1/4 cup veg broth
  • 3 tbs soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 tsp crumbled dried sage
  • 1 tbs cornstarch
  • 2 tbs water
  • Ground pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring often, about 5 min. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring often about 10 min.

Add broth, soy sauce, thyme, sage and simmer for 10 min. Mix cornstarch and water in small bowl. Stir into sauce and simmer, stirring often until slightly thickened, about 10 min. Season w/pepper.
