Ingredients
- 1/4 pound (16) vanilla caramels
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
Preparation
Step 1
Combine caramels and water in 1 1/2-quait saucepan. Melt caramels over low heat, stirring occasionally. Cool to room temperature.
Cream butter or margarine; add dash salt. Add sifted confectioners' sugar alternately with caramel sauce, blending till frosting is smooth and creamy. Add walnuts. Chill till of spreading consistency, about 30 minutes.
Frosts one 9-inch square cake or 1 dozen cupcakes.
