Orange Slice Cookies

These delectable orange slice cookies are easy to make, super beautiful, and the candied orange gives the best flavor to them! Definitely one to add to the recipe box.

Ingredients

• 18 candy orange slices
• 3 cups flour
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375° F.
Cut oranges slices into small pieces and drop the pieces into 1 cup of the flour.

Cream sugar and shortening together; add the eggs and mix thoroughly.

Sift the remaining 2 cups flour with the baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Add to sugar mixture and blend well.

Add vanilla, orange slice-flour mixture; mix well. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.
