Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
- 2 large granny smith apples
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 french baguette
- Apple syrup
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1 10 oz. jar apple jelly
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
Step 1
Peel and slice apples into 1/4 inch thick. Use a small sauce pan and cook brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup until thick, about 5 minutes. Pour sauce into a 9x13 pan. Arrange apple
slices on top. In bowl beat eggs, milk, and vanilla. Dip the bread slices into egg mixture until they are nice and moist. Place over apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake uncovered at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Apple syrup
Combine syrup ingredients in medium saucepan. Cook and stir until hot.
