Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup crisco oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 can pumpkin
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup dates cut up
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Preparation
Step 1
Grease and flour entire inside surface of 9+5+3 loaf pan.
In large bowl thoroughly stir together the flour, soda, b. pwdr, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Stir in sugar. Add oil, water, pumpkin, and unbeaten eggs. At medium speed beat, scraping bowl until thoroughly blended and smooth. Stir in dates and walnuts.
Put into pan. Bake 350 for 1 1/2 hours.
Loosen sides with a small spatula. Turn out on a wire rack. Cool completely. Wrap in plastic wrap. Crust will soften after a few hours. If loaf is to be kekpt more that a few day, store in the refrigerator.
