Ingredients
- Dough
- 2 pkgs.fast rising yeast
- 2 cups scalded milk
- 1/2 cup oleo
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. salt
- 6 to 8 cups of flour
- Filling
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 # groung walnuts
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Dough
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water with a little bit of sugar.
Scald milk and cool slightly. Add oleo and sugar. Stir in eggs that have been beaten and finally the yeast being sure the milk is not too hot.
Gradually add flour and knead for five minutes. Cover and set aside to raise to double.
Filling
Cook the ingredients for the filling until it is thick but spreadable.
Let cool.
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
Roll out each piece into a large, thin rectangle. Cover with 1/4 of filling.
Roll up in jelly roll fashion. Put on large cookie sheets. Let rise about an hour.
Bake at 325 for about 40 minutes
