Open-Face Sardine Sandwiches
A great lunch or light meal, or serve as a starter with glasses of chilled vinho verde or other crisp, dry wine.

Ingredients
- Sliced crusty bread
- Softened butter
- BELA-Olhao lightly smoked sardines in lemon-flavored olive oil
- Hard-cooked eggs, peeled & thinly sliced
- Thinly sliced red onion
- Cilantro sprigs
Preparation
Step 1
1. Halve the bread slices if they are very large.
2. Spread each generously with butter.
3. Top each with a sardine, then with egg slices, onion, and cilantro.
