French Breakfast Muffins

These muffins are fast and easy to whip up, and they actually taste very similar to cake doughnuts! Not too sweet ..

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. EACH salt & nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 about 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour with sugar, baking powder, salt & nutmeg. In another bowl, combine milk, egg, 1/3 c. melted butter and vanilla. Add liquids to flour mixture, stirring only until moistened. Fill sprayed or greased muffin pans half full and bake at 400 for 20 min. Brush tops immediately with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar
