Ingredients

  • 4 pork chop (1/2 inch thickness)
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. sake
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil (I used canola)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. julienned ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 shallot (or 1 Tbsp. minced onion)

Preparation

Step 1

Put all seasonings in Ziploc bag and mix well.

Prick pork chop with fork so meat will absorb marinade and put in Ziploc bag. Squeeze out air before sealing bag. Keep in fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

In large skillet, heat oil on high heat. When hot, put pork chops in pan, but keep marinade. Cook until bottom is nicely brown.

Once brown, flip and lower heat to medium low. Cover pan with lid and cook for 3 minutes (depends on thickness of pork chops).

Add marinade into pan and increase heat. When simmering, scoop marinade with spoon and pour over meat a couple of times. Turn off heat and ready to serve.
