Ingredients

  • 12 ounce ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-14-1/2 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1 4 ounce can diced green chili peppers
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 10 beef hot dogs and rolls, split and toasted
  • shredded cheese
  • finely chopped onion
  • yellow mustard

Step 1

For the sauce:
In a large skillet, cook ground beef, 1 cup onion and the garlic until brown and the onion tender. Stir in undrained tomatoes, undrained chili peppers, chili powder, 1 tablespoon mustard, sugar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, cumin. celery seeds, salt and pepper. Bring to boiling, reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.

Add hot dogs to beef mixture in skillet.. Simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes more. Remove dogs from meat sauce.

Place hot dogs in rolls. Put 1/4 cup meat mixture on dog with cheddar cheese

Slow Cooker:
Brown ground beef, add remaining ingredients. Cover cook for 2 hours. Add hot dogs to cooker for 30 minutes.
