Ingredients

    cup chopped pecans or walnuts

  • 1

    teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2

    cups flour

  • 1

    teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4

    teaspoon salt

  • 1

    cup butter, softened

  • 2

    eggs

  • 1

    cup sour cream

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

  • sugar

Directions

Combine nuts, 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon. set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, soda and salt and set aside. In a large bowl, combine butter, gradually add 1-1/2 cups sugar and continue to cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beating well after each. Fold in sour cream and vanilla. Gently beat in flour mixture into creamed mixture until well blended. Spoon 1/3 of batter a well greased pan 9x5x3 inch loaf pan and sprinkle with nut mixture. Repeat the procedure twice. Rap bottom of pan on counter top to level out pan. Bake in oven 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cover top with aluminum foil if tops browns to much before cake is done.
