Ingredients
- Thin and crisp:
- 2 1/2 sticks, unsalted butter softened
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- Soft and Chewy:
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Light and Flaky:
- 1 3/4 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Plus:
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp coarse salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 large eggs, room temp
- 2 cups (about 12 oz) chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
In a bowl whisk together flour and baking soda. In another bowl beat butter with both sugars until fluffy. Beat in salt, vanilla and eggs until well combined. Mix in flour mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by tablespoon-size balls of dough 2'' apart onto parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until cookies are golden around edges but still soft in center, 8-10 minutes. Transfer to wire rack, let cool.
