Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. warm Water 110-115 F
  • 2 pckgs. Yeast
  • 1/2 c. Milk
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 5 c. Flour
  • Butter
  • White Sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Pecans
  • Karo

Preparation

Step 1

In bowl dissolve Yeast in Water. Warm Milk to luke Warm and add Sugar and Salt. Combine the two mixtures.
Add one cup Flour and Shortening. Mix.

Whip Eggs and add. Continue adding Flour 1 cup at a time while kneeding.
Kneed until no longer sticky and it blisters.

Grease bowl and let it rise. Cover with moist towel for 1 to 2 hours or until it doubles.

Flatten to 5”x whatever. Spread softened butter on long half.
Spread generous amounts of Sugars, Cinnamon, Pecans, and a little Karo.
Cut into strips and twist into twisters.

Raise 30 minutes before baking. Bake at 350-375º for approximately 15 minutes.
