Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 small onion minced
- 3 carrots finely chopped
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1 lb ground beef+pork or italian sausage (hot is best)
- 3 oz can tomatoe paste
- salt + pepper, basil + oregano
- 1/3 cup red wine (optional)
- 14 oz can crushed tomatoes (can use tomatoe sause instead)
- 1 cup milk
Preparation
Step 1
in a dutch oven, saute onions, carrots, and garlic in olive oil, cook until softened. add ground meat cook and break up meat until no longer pink. stir in tomato paste, cook 1 minute. add spices to taste, then add tomatoes. bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 1 hour. add milk , simmer until completely absorbed
serve over hot pasta
can freeze leftover sause
