Cajun Seasoned oven Fries

Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes
  • 4 T canola oil divided
  • 1 t chili powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t black pepper
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 t sugar
  • 1 t dried oregano
  • 1/2 t cayenne
  • dash of turmeric
  • Onion powder optional

Preparation

Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 475
Wash and slice potatoes into wedges
Cover with HOT water and allow to rest in the hot water for 20 minutes
Combine seanings and stir well
Drain and dry well
toss potatoes in 1 T oil
coat sheet pan with 3 T oil
sprinkle 1/3 of the seasoning mixture on sheet pan
Sprinkle 1/3 of seasoning mixture on potatoes in a bowl and toss to coat.
Place potatoes on sheet pan in a single layer and cover with foil. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove foil and cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Flip potatoes and cook another 10 - 15 minutes, watch them closely so they do not burn.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining seasoning.
