Ingredients

    cups peeled sliced Granny Smith apples

  • 2/3

    cup maple syrup

  • 1/3

    cup raisins

  • 1

    cup flour

  • 1/4

    cup sugar

  • 1 1/2

    teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4

    teaspoon salt

  • 1/4

    cup butter, softened

  • 1/2

    cup buttermilk

  • 1

    egg

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

Directions

In saucepan, bring apples and syrup to boil, reduce heat, simmer for 3 minutes. Add raisins, Pour into a greased 8" square baking dish. IN bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda dna salt. With a pastry blender cut in butter. Whisk together milk, egg and vanilla/ Pour over flour mixture, stirring just until combined. Drop by large spoonfuls onto apple mixture. Bake in 350 oven 30 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
