Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/4 cup celery
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 7 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 1 lb 13oz tomatoes undrained
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 bay leaves crushed
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 3 6oz tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 4oz mushrooms undrained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb Italain sausage
  • 1 lb spaghetti

Preparation

Step 1

Brown 1/2lb beef in sauce pan. Add celery, 1/4 cup onions, garlic, tomatoes, sugar, 1 tsp salt, pepper to taste, bay leaves, oregano, water and mushrooms. Stir well, simmer 2 hours.

Combine remaining raw beef, onion, breadcrumbs,eggs, cheese, garlic salt, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper. Make 1" balls, bake in oven until done. Brown sausage, add to sauce. Simmer 1 hour longer.

Add 1.2 carrot in sauce to remove acid from tomatoes.
