Ingredients

  • Marinade:
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup canned sliced water chestnuts, rinsed, drained, and finely chopped
  • 6 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 minced scallions
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Asian sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 12 slider buns or small dinner rolls (cut horizontally in half), lightly toasted

Preparation

Step 1

Combine panko, turkey, egg, water chestnuts, salt, chopped cilantro, soy sauce and sesame oil to panko mixture. Mix with your hands or fork until just blended (do not ovremix).

Divide mixture into 12 equal portions. Using wet hands, form each portion into patty about 1/2 inch thick.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties in covered skillet in batches about 4 minutes per side, pressing patties down lightly with spatula before turning over.

Place patties on bottom halves of rolls. Top each patty with sauce. Cover with roll tops. Place 3 sliders on each of 4 plates and serve.
