Pepper Steak

  • 1 lb round steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 t ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 tomatoes, cut in wedges
  • 1 cup sliced green onion
  • 1 cup pepper slices
  • 2 sliced celery stalks
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • 1 cup water

Step 1

Cut beef across grain and marinate in soy sauce, garlic and ginger.

Heat oil in frying pan and cook beef over high heat until browned. If not tender, cover and simmer 30 minutes over low heat.

Turn heat up and add vegetables. Toss until vegetables are tender crisp, about 10 minutes.

Mix cornstarch with water and add to pan. Stir and cook until thickened. Add tomatoes and heat through.
